SJM Construction Limited Warranty
SJM Construction warrants its cabinetry to be free from defects in material or workmanship for ten (10) years from the purchase date. SJM warranties product for as long as the original purchaser owns the product. SJM may use discretion to determine whether replacing or repairing the product is necessary.
This warranty does not cover the natural aging or darkening of wood color, the inherent growth characteristics or variation of wood. Some replacement parts are subject to availability and may differ from the original product purchased. This warranty does not cover damage or defects caused by misuse, abuse, negligence, alteration. This warranty does not cover problems caused by improper installation when SJM Construction was not the installer of the product. Normal wear and tear is not covered under this warranty.
To the extent permitted by law, this warranty does not cover incidental, or consequential damages (such as labor expenses) whether arising out of breach of warranty, breach of contract, tort or otherwise.
Wood Color Disclaimer
There may be variations in the color of the wood due to many factors. Some of these factors include but are not limited to: grain texture, knots, minerals, and sap runs. No two pieces of wood are exactly the same and because of that it will make it so there are variations in the stain on the wood. Stain will take better (become more dark) to softer areas and end grain, likewise, stain will not take as well (will not get as dark) to hard areas. These things will lead to product color variations. Painted wood can show some grain patterns as well. SJM Construction uses both solid wood and veneer, the wood may vary as it might be from different production lots or bundled wood.
Moisture and Humidity Disclaimer
Wood can be reactive to temperature and humidity. When these conditions change quickly can cause many problems in wood. Some of these problems are but are not limited to; expanding and contracting, splitting, separation of joints and warping. SJM Construction recommends that wood product be in a stable environment with moderate temperatures and a constant humidity level of 35%. SJM Construction will not cover cost of replacing or repairing defects that stem from temperature or humidity such as peeling, cracking, shrinking, and warping.
Light Exposure Disclaimer
Wood naturally changes color when exposed to any kind of light. Some wood will change color more significantly than others. SJM Construction typically uses a finish that is non yellowing and more UV resistant which will limit the discoloration of the product.
Cleaning Care Disclaimer
Spills and leaks need to be cleaned up quickly with a damp soft cloth proceeded with a dry soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cloths, harsh cleaners, brushes or scratch pads to clean products.
